01. Overview

I recently completed the redesign of an app designed to help users locate on-call pharmacies near their location. As the designer of this project, my role was to rebuild the app’s user interface and experience to make it more intuitive and user-friendly.

 

Using Figma as my primary tool, I worked to improve the user experience by refining the visual layout and enhancing functionality. The duration of the project was around 3 weeks. The main goal was to create a more seamless and user-friendly experience, making it easier for users to quickly find nearby pharmacies, especially during emergencies.

The original version of the app had several issues that needed to be addressed. Its outdated design and complex navigation system made it difficult for users to find pharmacies quickly, which was a key pain point for the client. They wanted the new design to be more intuitive and visually appealing, catering to users who need immediate access to pharmacies after hours.

 

The primary problems I aimed to resolve were the inefficient navigation, lack of user engagement, and a search feature that wasn't user-friendly enough for the target audience.

To solve these problems, I implemented several design and functional improvements. I completely redesigned the app's navigation system, making it more intuitive and easy to use. I also focused on creating a clean, modern interface that provides a more engaging and efficient user experience.

 

The new design features an improved search function, better filter options, and a streamlined settings page, all of which contribute to a smoother experience. Throughout the redesign process, I made sure that the app’s new look was consistent with its brand identity while elevating the overall design to meet modern standards.

04. Solution & Results

The redesign made a significant impact on both the user experience and the app's performance. Users found the app easier to navigate, and feedback was positive, with many appreciating the improved search and filtering capabilities.

 

The overall engagement with the app increased, and the client was pleased with the results. From this project, I learned the importance of simplifying complex processes and making sure the design aligns with user needs, a lesson I’ll definitely carry forward in future projects.
